Artificial Intelligence And Brain Simulation
Defining what makes us “us” and what is to be alive, is a subject that could have many definitions and depending on what you believe.
You could say that your “soul” is the one that make a person a unique being, or reasoning and thinking it is the one that defines a being for what it is.
Most scientists try not to involve religion or any concept of such matter in the field of science. The idea is that we are just beings that have evolved from other species like monkeys (evolution theory).
But any living creature is what it is, by their brains and are only motivated and stimulated by the desires and needs our bodies require for the interaction with the surroundings and other beings around us.
Now let’s just assume that that’s the case, and in some part of our brains, our consciousness and what define us is located somewhere in there.
Some believe that our reasoning’s are in the brain, but the energy or spiritual being that gives us the life itself is something else, again something like a soul, for example.
And if that can be proven, it means that in theory, we can create a duplicate of a person in the ways he thinks and interact.
As long as we can manipulate “exactly” in another recipient, all the information the person have in their brain, and put it in another brain that can be artificial or recorded with the same information about the person on the matter.
Is This Possible?
Now all of this is just hypothetical and assuming it can be plausible in the future, but new advances in artificial technology are not just to create new beings with reasoning or thinking just like us.
But also to prove that life is a pretty vague concept since we consider that plants are living things just because they can feel, too.
If that’s the case, an artificial being with reasoning and reactions that also can feel with the interaction with the world, can also be considered an artificial but living being, too.
Artificial intelligence is trying to prove that the way we think and our brains works, can be created and manipulated.
Probably in the future, artificial brains and bodies can be created to in some way, make a recipient for when our bodies start to fail, or simply to keep alive after the inevitable degeneration that our bodies suffer after reaching a certain age comes.
But of course, this is something that still needs lots of studies and practices to start making it a reality and not just fiction that is considered so far.
