The usual thought about nanotechnology is to think that is just so small that it cannot be seen. It is impossible to be seen by the human eye or hardly any other kind of eye unless you have the proper equipment like advance microscopes and devices.

Equipments enables scientists to do something in a very small space, but that is at the same time the same space we are, just in a really small and microscopic proportion.

To give you an idea how small nanotechnology actually is, think of a regular measure size like a meter, now one nanometer (which is the unit used in the nanotechnology field) is just a billionth part of that meter.

That means that in just 5 meters you can have around 5 billion of nanometers, which automatically makes you think that there’s a lot of space in the nano universe.

Basic and fundamental Concepts Of The Nanotechnology

By the way, a theory actually indicates that there is infinite space since there is no limit on how small something can be so far.

With this in mind, you clearly can see now how small a nanometer can be, and how on something pretty simple like a marble, you can have the equivalent of the earth in the nanometer scales.

Recently, the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology involve to be able to manipulate individuals atoms and molecules with the use of different devices and needles that requires extreme precision.

We are talking about equipment that needs to be consistent and almost perfect in the size they are making effects on it.

Understanding that, it means that the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology can actually manipulate everything that exist and everything that will exist. All things in the universe known so far, are made of atoms and molecules, not matter what it is, food, houses, the planet itself and even us and all living things that exist.

Nanotechnology in the future

Now this technology is still pretty new and so far the uses that this one have are pretty limited since creating the right tools and devices in a nanoscale perspective requires some time and precision that not many scientists have access to it, especially for most of the devices.

The future idea with this technology is to be able to find different ways to deliberately make materials at the nanoscale, take advantage of their enhanced properties and combinations, such as higher strength, lighter weight, increased control of the light spectrum and reforming of the material itself.
