1- Overview of liver functions

– It is involved in the production of about 13,000 different chemical substances and maintenance of over 2000 enzymes.

– It makes plasma proteins, lipoproteins, and 80% of cholesterol.

– The liver filters blood, produces bile, makes and breaks down hormones.

– It regulates blood sugar level through glycogenolysis (break down of glycogen stored in the liver and muscles), gluconeogenesis (resynthesizing glucose from non-carbohydrate substances as lipids)

– Toxins are everywhere, particularly in the food we eat and the drinks. There are many chemical toxins in non-organic fruits and vegetables because of spraying them with herbicides and pesticides.

Toxins are found not only in the fresh air we inhale or the food we eat but also, they are in personal products such as creams, hair products, toothpaste.

Therefore, detoxification is a very important function that can be done only by the liver.
– The liver detoxifies the body properly through two stages. But each of these stages requires amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals.
