Erosion of the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract, cells lining the wall of the digestive tract, leads to peptic ulcer. The ulcer may develop within the stomach, gastric ulcer, or in the duodenum, duodenal ulcer, or in the esophagus, esophageal ulcer. The most common one is the duodenal ulcer.
Symptoms of peptic ulcer
1- A burning sensation if it is gastric or pain in the middle of your gut if it is duodenal. This is The most common symptom. The pain becomes severe when your stomach is empty or when you eat, drink, or take antacids. The pain may last for a few minutes to several hours.
2- Weight loss because of reducing the food intake as a result of the pain.
3- Nausea, vomiting, and heartburn.

Remedies to treat ulcers

You have to avoid things which trigger the development of ulcers. Avoid Drinking too much alcohol, tea, and coffee. Lower eating spicy foods. Also, smoking increases the risk of ulcers.
Eating bananas are very helpful in treating ulcers. They neutralize stomach acidity by inhibiting production of gastric juice. Also, Leucocyanidin which present in bananas increases the thickness of the mucous membrane of the stomach, increasing protection against the potential damage caused by ulcers.
Drinking a glass of milk reduces the risk of developing ulcers. You should drink it when you take common pain relievers such as aspirin or ibuprofen. It helps avoid the chronic irritation of the stomach lining that develops after long-term use of pain relievers.
Milk has proven beneficial in treating this malady. This milk helps to reduce the excessive volumes of acid in the stomach.
In a recent study of 45 inmates at San Quentin Prison in California, 93 % of the ulcers in prisoners taking cabbage juice concentrate in capsules were healed after three weeks.
